Facilities: Lunch, Cloakroom, Toilets and Café
The Museum is wheelchair friendly with accessible toilets and a lift. Some parts of the Gardens, including the Animal Walk, can be steep and difficult to negotiate for wheelchair users. Find full access details here.
There is a Café where you can purchase food and drinks. Please note that it cannot accommodate classes and that only food purchased in the Café can be eaten there.
School groups with taught sessions have an allocated lunch time and room with storage space for lunch boxes and coats.
There is a small public cloakroom, space is limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
Please do not eat in the Museum; crumbs encourage pests, which in turn eat our collections.
The Gardens are available for picnicking. Our outdoor picnic tables are available every day during Garden opening hours and the Dutch Barn is open 11am-3pm on Wednesdays to Sundays. These are located in the Bandstand terrace area. All areas are available on a first come, first served basis.
