netsuke

Netsuke. An ivory study of a man sitting with his knees to either side of a parcel lying in front of him.On his right shoulder and supported by his right arm is a pot with a bird on the top. His left hand rests on a kasuri patterned tammono (bolt of cloth), resting on top of the parcel in front of him. The same pattern appears on the man's kimono. The ivory is stained.
