Flute. African blackwood (grenadilla) with silver ferrules and keywork. Four rings and tracker-action foot keys. Conical bore. Three joints connected with cork lapped tenons. Patent cork adjusting mechanism operated by a dial on the head joint. Two circles of numbers stamped around the dial. The outer circle reads: 0/1/2/3/4/5/6/0/6/5/4/3/2/1; the inner circle reads: /2/3/4/5/6/5/4/3/2/1; The head joint is also stamped: CORNELIUS WARD/PATENTER; The barrel joint and body joint are stamped: CORNELIUS WARD/LONDON
