Horniman Plant Fair

Listen to talks, buy specialist plants, get advice, and take part in tours at the Plant Fair, in partnership with Plant Fairs Roadshow.

Taking place across our beautiful Gardens, you can buy plants from small and independent nurseries run by specialist growers who are passionate about the plants they produce.

The Nurseries provide a spectrum of plants including cottage-garden favourites, shade-loving plants, alpines, trees and shrubs, succulents and many more.

Speak directly to knowledgeable growers and get advice from experts about what you are growing… or would like to!

We will also have a series of talks on our Bandstand curated by Head of Horticulture Errol Fernandes. This year’s theme for our talks programme is ‘The Ground Beneath our Feet’.

Soil health, underground ecosystems, our connection with the earth and environment around us. Speakers this year will include:

  • Sam Lee, Mercury Music nominated folk singer and author
  • Alys Fowler, horticulturist and journalist
  • Claire Ratinon, organic food grower, author and Guardian Gardening columnist
  • Nadeem Perera, founder of the birdwatching collective, Flock Together and wildlife TV Presenter.

Alongside this we will be running tours of the Gardens from the Horniman Gardens team.

Joining us at the Plant Fair will be:

  • The Potting Shed, Sussex
  • Branching Out

This event is run in partnership with Plant Fairs Roadshow.

Although children are welcome, this event is aimed at adult visitors and there will be no children’s activities.
